We are investigating a possible system issue which has caused 3 websites (we are aware of) to be deleted / unlinked from 000webhost control panel account but still displaying live in the browser.
Developers are investigating but the likelihood of the URL/files being relinked to an account is slim to none so we encourage those affected to simply create a new website and keep regular backups.
We can only pass this information to developers to further examine why it happened in the first place.
As always users are responsible for regular backups of their websites - 000webhost is not responsible for any loss of access to your website / data / files through system corruption / failure / disaster / user inactivity or any kind of loss.
Can users ensure they take regular backups of their websites upon making changes to it and in the event of disaster at least you’ve got an up-to-date backup available.
It seems a few users are affected but hopefully not too many more reports I’ve responded to a few here that have emailed.
The developers are unlikely to be able to retrieve the lost data/ unlinked URL, so advice is to make a new account / new website and continue on your journey.
Apologies this has happened and they’ll continue to investigate why and how to prevent in the future.
Users should keep regular backups, and unfortunately we are unable to restore any access to files still live on the web browser in the instance.
Developers have replied and the worst is the scenario, any users who were affected during this system issue will not have their site returned and it will be deleted fully as I suspected. Apologies to those affected.
